Holiday Home & Entertainment

This was a quick project I finished for the Park Record... it's a special section insert. It is what it is - boring commercial design! But, alas, it is what they want. I personally want to do some more artistic stuff! Stay tuned... there is some in the works :)

the creative mind

"The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him... a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpower...ing necessity to
create, create, create--- so that without creating something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating." - Pearl S. Buck.

Holy Water Buffalo

Tommy, Jeff, Nash and Steven are the members of Holy Water Buffalo.
They are rockin' it and are sounding better and better with every day. Their hard work is starting to pay off. I'm so excited to see where their music will take them. They have lots of potential and I think they will go far. They've had an awesome repsonse so far I'm so stoked for them!
And.... since I'm Tommy's girlfriend, I get to do all the bands' designs (logos, CDs, flyers, merch etc.) as well as all the photography. So I'm equally excited to be able to do what I love for the people I love!Take a listen to their all-original-music at

must listen

This band is so gooood. Fabrizio Moretti (drummer from the strokes) formed Little Joy along with some other super talented musicians. I highly recommend this album to everyone. This is one of my favorite songs on it. Binki Shapiro has such a beautiful voice.

ALSO... on the must listen list are:
Blitzen Trapper & Delta Spirit... amazing on CD and live. They ROCK it.
Julian Casablanca's newly released album Phrazes for the Young is also a treat for the ears

Holga

I want to share some photos I took with my Holga. I'm starting to become a little obsessed with that little plastic camera. It's so much fun! I love all the random light leaks and the vintage effect... and it's all so natural!

typography love

Ah.... more wonderful, inspirational and simply divine art I have been gawking at for the last 2 hours. Her unique style is truly amazing. One day I wish to be half as talented and successful as she is.

Spring Home & Garden

Yet again, it's been a while since I've last blogged. I have been really busy with work (and play!), designing the Spring Home & Design magazine and currently with the Park City Summer Guide which comes out June 20. Apparently they loved my last winter guide design so much that they wanted to keep the same general layout design for the future and have me do it again. So that's exciting! In other "news", I am currently moving into my new apartment, "south of my parents' house", as I like to say (aka the basement apartment!). I've been doing alot of painting, moving, buying, decorating, etc. Wow! Also, I just got my little kitty from Jeff, who's cat had kittens. He is the most adorable little thing. He sleeps curled up next to me all night every night. I will be posting photos soon ... of the apartment and the kitty... as soon as it's all done! In the meantime, I am posting some digital copies of some pages in the Spring Home & Garden magazine.

Spring is finally here

It has been a few wonderful days now of sunshine and 60-70 degree weather. I am so thankful, it boosts my spirits so much! I can't wait for the summer to set it.

Just to keep updated, I will share a few recent photos. I went skiing quite a bit this winter, so I have some pictures of one of the times Tommy, Dharma and I went to Deer Valley.

The other photos are of last weekend. Tommy, Nash, Jeff and I went to Salt Lake where we played in the warm weather, watched the sunset in a park, enjoyed some light shopping, concluded with a wonderful dinner and beer at Squatters followed by a friend's house party. Life is good!
